Introducing the HTC Hero. The Android phone you have been waiting for. Running on Google’s Android operating system the Hero is one to fall in love with. The design of the phone is daring to say the least. Most recent phones have all been about shedding the hard lines and angles to make slick shapeless blobs. The HTC Smartphone, Hero, is very angular, similar to those you might see in sci-fi. The phone feels more rugged and durable than most phones on the market today. The angles make it feel more comfortable and natural to hold and grasp in your hand.

Keypad, Display & Browser - Just like the latest Google Android smartphones the display is multitouch with a vibrant 480-320 screen. The WebKit browser makes good use of the multitouch feature with pinch to zoom out and spread to zoom in. Flash support is also incorporated into the core WebKit browser. The brightness is similar to other phones of this type but feels warmer than most. If you are a little worried about on-screen keyboards, don’t be. The keyboard is particularly good on this phone. There are three keyboard layouts in both portrait and landscape modes. The standard full QWERTY keyboard, a phone keypad and a cut down version of QWERTY - which has two letters per key. The full QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode is a dream to type fast with.
Widgets - The HTC Hero Smartphone is loaded with a slew of new applications and widgets. Most of which are HTC unique, meaning you won’t be seeing them on non HTC phones. The standard clock and weather widgets are present but there are interesting widgets like the Twitter widget. This enables you to read recent tweets or update your status without having to open the Twitter app. The Hero comes with multiple desktop themes, each with different backgrounds, widgets and shortcuts. You can customise these and save your configurations as well. Switching between these themes, or scenes as they are called, takes only a couple of seconds and lets you completely rearrange your entire desktop almost instantly. Use one scene for home and one for work, this lets you organise better.
Social Networking - When running the HTC Hero for the first time it you are asked for your Facebook, Twitter and Flickr logins. One good thing is that unlike a lot of other phone this one does not dump all 500 of your Facebook friends into your contacts list; it keeps the list in the background for when you need it. The Facebook connection here is deeper and more useful than the likes of the Palm Pre. If you have linked a phone contact to a Facebook profile you can view their most recent status from your phone contact list. In the contact tab you can view all the usual information such as phone numbers, email addresses, photos, birthday and all recent txt messages and conversions. Also displayed are email history, recent Facebook updates and Flickr photo albums.
The Hero Smartphone is the best Google Android driven phone to date. The features such as integrated profile and unique widgets combined with the phone’s design and interface make this the best smartphone to date. This is the best alternative to the iPhone and Palm Pre.

If you’ve been a BlackBerry user for even a short space of time, you’ve likely heard about BlackBerry themes already, but even if you have already heard of them, you might not be fully aware of what they are, how they work, and how you can utilize them. Along with BlackBerry accessories, themes are probably the best way to customize your smartphone
By installing a theme on to your BlackBerry, you can specify precisely the way that almost everything on it is displayed. They work in much the same way as the theme system used on Microsoft Windows - literally one click gives a totally different look and feel.
There’s a range of unique themes available to suit your tastes and interests - some being free and needing to be paid for. You can find them by visiting online BlackBerry accessories and applications stores, where you will find hundreds to choose. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll be able to find. From fun and quirky, to elegant and classy, everyone is catered for. Alternatively, if you’re the creative type, you can also make your own themes.
The software (BlackBerry Theme Studio v5.0) needed to create your own theme is easy enough to use and, best of all, it’s free. Once you’ve downloaded it, you’ll see that it’s user friendly and self explanatory. It is worth explaining here though about the differences between the two products contained within the suite.
The BlackBerry Composer is the graphic creation and editing part of the suite, and it’s great for helping you craft images, whether they’re static or animated. It has lots of nice graphic design features built into it and is great for creating and adding life to your images without having to buy other software.
The actual designing of the theme is done within the Theme Builder. It lets you set which images get used for each part of the theme - like icons, background graphics and cursors. It’s also where you can decide what, if any, sounds and animations are used, which fonts to use, and whereabouts on the screen your menus and icons are displayed.
If you find making themes is something you like and are good at, then you can even make some extra money for yourself by selling your creations in BlackBerry accessories and applications stores. These online stores can also be used to get inspiration for creating themes. Browse through the list of top sellers and most sought after themes and you’ll have no shortage of ideas - you could even use them as templates for your own ones.
To summarize, if you’re someone that wants to make your BlackBerry truly your own, then installing a theme, to go along with some cool BlackBerry accessories, is the way to go.

Toshiba has a Smartphone that is now available in the market. Toshiba TG01 Review says it is par with the the Apple iPhone, the Toshiba TG01 is very slim at only 9. 9 mm. Carrying a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, it boasts of a 1GHz CPU making it the fastest and thinnest mobile phone by far.
Operating on Windows Mobile version 6. 1, the TG01 operating system is upgraded to 6. 5 upon release. The 4. 1 inch WVGA touchscreen display certainly complements its other features such as the integrated 3G mobile broadband, Wi Fi support and built in GPS.
Weighing only 129g, it is unbelievable that the phone has a 129mmx70mm dimension. Power and volume controls are found on the left side; the camera and USB sockets on the right.
On the front pane, the bottom offers 3 touch-sensitive buttons, the home and back. There is a bar, which brings up a Free Pad and allows you to zoom in or out of web pages. The touch screen offers the call and end-call buttons, there are soft-keys too, though small in size, it’s no big issue.
The back of the Toshiba TG01 offers a 3. 2MP camera which does not have a flash and looks out of place due to a flimsy plastic look, on the chassis which is otherwise classy. The overall design is minimalist and buttons that are, flush nicely with the rest of the phone. The TG01 comes on very slowly and the Toshiba logo displays long enough for anyone to get worried if they have broken the 3G.
The display of the WVGA screen is sharp and clear but it not very responsive; though you can swipe through menus but it still requires some fine-tuning. When the phone has a message for you the LED is blue, when it is low on battery it turns red and green when in sleep mode; as energy-saving option this can be turned off. All you need to do is press the power button to exit the sleep mode.
When The Toshiba TG10 is flipped on to its side, the screen takes about two seconds to re-orient itself to the landscape mode. The Toshiba TG10 can be used as a mini PC in this landscape mode, you only have to find a dock and connect a keyboard. The phone comes with 2 CDs - the User Guide and the Sync Software, 3. 5mm headphone adaptor a micro-USB charger, a micro-USB to USB adaptor and connection to the PC.
If you love Toshiba like we do, you probably have a laptop as well. If you are looking to extended battery life you need to get a Toshiba PA3588U 1BRS or Toshiba PA3594U 1BRS laptop battery replacement today.

The ability to understand where you are, where you want to be, and how to go there was previously best established through the use of a paper atlas. If you were taking a trip in your car then there is a good chance you used either an atlas or one of those big tri-folded maps which actually weren’t much help while attempting to drive. Fortunately navigating the world today is easier thanks to the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the different types of GPS gadgets that utilize it.
If you are thinking about how these GPS gadgets accomplish what they do then read on. The Global Positioning System was formulated and implemented by the United States Department of Defense when it launched its first GPS satellite way back in 1978. At present there are 24 satellites in the GPS network that are the foundation of the whole system.
There are several varied kinds of GPS devices that are engineered to take advantage of this network of satellites. GPS mapping tools are used to gather points and any information attached to those points for mapping purposes. Actually these gadgets have been utilized for years to gather the data that makes the maps and mapping features used by different GPS navigating systems.
Which brings us to the most famous consumer GPS device: the GPS navigating system. The most common of these is the in-car GPS unit that shows you map of where you are going and tells you using voice directions how to get there. These GPS equipment are either installed in the cars dash or are portable and can be transferred between cars.
A number of navigational units provide a feature whereby you can find restaurants, shopping, hospitals, and accommodations not considering where you are; this can be incredibly helpful when looking for services in a city with which you are unfamiliar. The smaller versions of these navigational units are handheld devices that can be used by travellers, hunters, and other outdoor enthusiasts.
These kinds of GPS devices will record where you are, leave a breadcrumb trail of where you’ve been, and will show you to where you want to go. Many of these units additionally include built in cameras and voice recorders, letting you keep a record of your journeys.
