Twitter creator Jack Dorsey's Square application, which is like a smartphone PayPal for credit cards, has attracted lots of warranted attention for its potential to enable peer-to-peer and merchant credit card transactions in the real world far beyond what's capable today in most countries.

Nokia is now coming clean about how the Booklet 3G netbook will be sold in the U.S., and for how much. The Booklet 3G, which is getting decent reviews , will cost $299 with a 2-year data contract ($60 per month) on AT&T. The netbook will be available come Oct. 22, which is the official Windows 7 launch date. The Booklet 3G has Windows 7 onboard. Nokia is maintaining that the 12-hour battery life is “real world,” but we’ll just have to see about that. It will only be at Best Buy in the U.
